Septic Pump Tank
Septic Pump Tanks
Poly Pump Tanks for Mound Systems, Lift Stations & Pressure Dosing
When a septic system needs to move effluent uphill or dose a drainfield or mound at controlled rates, a septic pump tank (or effluent pump tank) is installed after the septic tank. Our spherical poly pump tanks are engineered for this job with a strong ribbed design, high-quality polyethylene construction and a one-piece, pre-plumbed layout that’s ready for your pump package.

Septic Pump Tank Features
- Engineered ribbed shell: Spherical, ribbed wall design enhances structural integrity and helps the pump tank resist soil and groundwater pressure in challenging conditions.
- High-quality polyethylene: Molded from corrosion-resistant, long-lasting polyethylene that will not rust and is resistant to sulfuric acid decay that can attack concrete tanks.
- One-piece, no-skeleton construction: Pump tanks are molded as a single piece with no internal skeleton to assemble, improving strength and simplifying installation.
- Pre-plumbed and ready for pumps: Inlet, outlet and internal plumbing are factory-installed so the tank arrives ready to accept your pump, floats and control package.
- Lightweight and easy to set: Compared to concrete, these plastic pump tanks are much lighter and easier to move with common jobsite equipment. A flat, even bottom helps with stable bedding in the excavation.
- Designed for high water tables & deep burial: Suitable for high water table sites with maximum bury depth up to 48" to the top of the tank (always follow local code and manufacturer limits).
- Suitable for light lawn traffic: Rated for areas with light lawn traffic only—no vehicle traffic over the tank.
- Green safety lids available: Optional green safety lids provide secure access at grade and blend with landscaping.
Recommended minimum operating fluid level to protect pumps:
— 300 gallon pump tank: minimum 6" of fluid
— 750 & 1,000 gallon pump tanks: minimum 20" of fluid

Applications of Septic Pump Tanks
A septic pump tank is installed after the septic tank whenever effluent needs to be moved or dosed rather than flow by gravity. These poly pump tanks are used in:
- Mound and pressure-dosed systems: Effluent pump tanks provide timed or demand dosing to raised mound systems and pressure distribution fields.
- Lift stations: Sites where the drainfield or treatment unit is uphill from the septic tank and effluent must be lifted to a higher elevation.
- High water table areas: Coastal and wet-soil locations where a spherical, ribbed pump tank helps resist buoyancy and external pressure.
- Larger homes & light commercial projects: Properties with higher flows that require reliable pump chambers and controlled dosing to downstream treatment.
Pair your septic pump tank with a standard or heavy-duty septic tank upstream and the right septic tank accessories for risers, lids and connections to complete the system.
Septic Tank & Pump Tank Accessories
Complete your septic pump tank installation with compatible septic tank accessories, including risers, safety lids, gaskets and connection hardware. These additions make inspection, pumping and long-term maintenance easier while helping keep your septic system sealed and secure.
