Corrugated Bolted Water Tank Installation

Corrugated tank being bolted flatThe first step is determining the type and size of tank you need. We need to define your usable gallon requirements, your project coordinates, and the tank use application before tank manufacturing begins. Sheets for your tank range in gauge, and are dependent on the engineering calculation for your specific tank. Once we have the information, your tank manufacturing process can begin. Now that your tank panels are complete to your specifications, they are delivered and ready for installation. The liner that is appropriate for your tank is welded to the dimensions of the tank prior to installation. Larger tanks are an exception and may require some field welding.

Carbon steel wall panels are typically installed on a pre-poured concrete foundation. Steel floors are not necessary if a concrete foundation is available to serve as the floor of the tank. Steel floors are used only when your tank is engineered to be self-anchored and is installed on a compacted granular/road base ring foundation. In special circumstances, panels are also installed on gravel surfaces.

Corrugated steel tank with a roof and a ladderYour sidewall sheet design is based on a combination of AISI for bolted joint connections and the requirements set forth by AWWA chapter 5. Tank walls are seismically anchored to the foundation as needed. We assemble any safety apertures or additional options on site. This can include guardrails, deck access, ladder systems, bridges, catwalks, and more. If you have chosen a roof style, rather than having an open tank, it is also installed on site. Our roof designs are evaluated to ASCE 7 and AWWA specifications.

Power blanket hot boxOur Custom Tank Blanket Heaters are exactly what you need for tank freeze protection. When cold weather affects the viscosity of fuel, fluids, and other materials you can lose production time, adding additional costs. Heater blankets keep your tanks and smaller corrugated/steel tanks at constant temperature, preventing fluids from freezing in extreme conditions. We customize thermal blankets to meet your specific needs, no matter the tank size or shape. Call us today to find out more!
